2016 Sports Diversity and Inclusion Symposium
In 2012, the Diversity and Inclusion Sports Consortium (DISC) was established to create a network and strategic planning for practicing diversity sports professionals. Each year, a member hosts the annual Sports Diversity and Inclusion Symposium. The symposium provides a forum to present, discuss, evaluate and create tangible solutions that drive greater diversity and inclusion in today's sport culture. Influential and prominent diversity leaders from Olympic, Paralympic, professional and amateur athletic organizations across the country participate in expert panels, roundtable discussions and general sessions.
In 2016, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, in partnership with Major League Baseball (2015 host), Minor League Baseball, Major League Soccer, NASCAR, the National Basketball Association, National Football League (2012 host), National Hockey League, the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (2014 host), PGA Tour, the United States Olympic Committee (2013 host), the United States Tennis Association, the Women’s National Basketball Association, the Ross Initiative in Sports Equality and You Can Play, will host the fifth annual Sports Diversity and Inclusion Symposium.
